Jessica Klinner, Publicity Coordinator

Born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama, Jessica rebelled against her Southern roots at an early age when she was given her first mixtape filled with songs from The Used, From First to Last, Chiodos and more. She quickly turned to Myspace to feed her hunger for more alternative music, and it wasn’t long before her Top 8 consisted solely of bands. She found a core group of friends at her small, conservative private school who had also been exposed to the wonders of alternative music, and soon she was piling in cars driving hours away to concerts every chance she could.

In 2015, Jessica received her Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in communication from Auburn University Montgomery. While pursuing her degree, she served as the editor-in-chief of the university’s newspaper and managing editor at Highlight Magazine. Upon graduating, Jessica got a job at the local deli to pay the bills, but continued to write and network within the music industry. Even when she landed her first full time job in I.T., she still moonlighted as a music journalist and editor. Most recently, Jessica served as the Managing Editor at Substream Magazine. It’s through these writing opportunities within the music industry that she met Jen, Stephanie and Lucy.

Once on a job interview, Jessica was told that she should be a publicist. Before that moment, the thought had never really crossed her mind, but after moving up in the editorial world, it became more and more clear that Jessica had a heart for helping smaller bands reach an audience. She comes to Catalyst with a storied background in editorial work, social media management and content creation within the music industry. She couldn’t be more excited about beginning her life of publicity with Catalyst and helping artists grow and develop to their full potential.
